Top 5 Navigation and Maps Apps on Android in UAE Q4 2023

The fourth quarter of 2023 saw notable trends among the top navigation and maps applications on the Android platform in the United Arab Emirates. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top five apps based on data from Sensor Tower.

Yango Maps experienced significant fluctuations in weekly downloads. Starting strong with 23.9K downloads in late September, the numbers dipped to 3K by mid-October but then peaked again at 34.4K in mid-November. The app’s weekly active users followed a similar pattern, starting with 22K and rising to a peak of 30.6K in mid-November before stabilizing around 27.4K by the end of December.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a relatively stable performance throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads ranged from 5.3K to 8.5K, with a peak in early December. The app's active user base exhibited slight fluctuations, starting at 36.3K in late September and ending at 35.6K in late December.

Muslim Prayer - Qibla Compass saw consistent engagement. Weekly downloads hovered around 3K to 4.3K, with a slight dip in mid-December. Active users steadily increased from 5.6K in late September to a peak of 7.9K in early December, before leveling off at 7.6K by the end of the quarter. The app also generated modest weekly revenue, peaking at $7 in late October.

World Real Map had an interesting quarter with a significant spike in downloads in late October, reaching 9K. However, downloads dropped sharply to around 73 by the end of December.

Google Earth showed steady download numbers, ranging from 2.3K to 4.8K throughout the quarter. Active users saw a peak of 20.1K in mid-October before settling around 14.5K towards the end of December.
